Racing3 are the intermediate wheels in the Fulcrum® range, in
aluminium. Wheels of a polyvalent nature, they are ideal in
competitions, century rides and everyday training.
Thanks to a special solution, the aluminium rim with a height of 26
mm is lightened between the spokes, in other words in the section
of the rim not subjected to any particular stresses where the
reduction of material diminishes the peripheral mass and inertia
and does not affect the solidity of the wheel. The top rim groove
is not perforated and there are therefore advantages both in weight
terms – no rim tape is required – and from a mechanical point of
view – greater torsional rigidity and greater vertical elasticity
of the wheel. The hubs are of the oversize type and are fi tted
with adjustable bearings for the maximum smoothness and ease of
maintenance. The 2 mm steel spokes feature a streamlined profile
which encourages aerodynamic penetration and reduces the formation
of vortices. There are 16 of them for the front wheel and 21 for
rear ones, distributed radially on the front one and with a 2:1 Two
to One™ ratio on the rear wheel. Racing3 wheels are distinguished
by the presence of three Fulcrum® design philosophies: 2:1 Two to
One™ Spoke Ratio, MoMag™ and Dynamic Balance™.
2:1 Two-to-One™ Spoke
Ratio
The rear wheel spoke arrangement has double spokes on the
right-hand side. This solution allows you to have a rigid wheel but
also reduced tensions and better balancing at the same time.
Dynamic Balance™
A special machining operation on the rim section opposite the joint
balances the two peripheral masses with the result that the wheel
is perfectly balanced during the rotation dynamics.
MoMag™
The rim, while having no holes on the top groove, is fitted with
traditional nipples. This makes the spoke tensioning and
replacement operations extraordinarily easy and avoids the use of
anchoring systems which weaken the rim.
Racing3 wheels are compatible
with Campagnolo® and Shimano® drivetrains and are available in
black and silver versions
